the Unified Perspective over Packaged Applications

  • e-Tools usage example (Visually infer Siebel design)

Answering to the issue raised on linkedin:

    The problem:

On service request detailed applet or service request list applet (Service Request Business Component)

When the Status field is set to closed the sub status field defaults to resolved, the applet is also set to read only. the task is to prevent sub-status field from defaulting to resolved when Status field is set to Closed..

This event also happens on Siebel Vanilla (Siebel Vmare)

    Answer on LinkedIn:

    Hi Lawal,

I was curious about your question as it would seem straightforward... but you are right.. it is not.

So I opened our e-Tools and made an analysis on the Service Request Business Component. Using the Runtime events function I am able to find all related Action Sets. At my surprise, I immediately noticed there were 2 active Action Sets that did not have any associated action. By checking the properties of the connections I found out that these Action Sets were exactly on the 2 fields you have an issue with... interesting!

So I opened a web session directly on e-Tools and went to the RunTime events Administration View (you can reach them directly from the e-Tools objects). I inactivated the 2 Action Sets and made a test: at that point the behaviour you are experiencing was not longer there.

This is an example of hidden Siebel functionality that does not follow standard customization practice. In this case, for example, we would expect to find related actions that define the behaviour. Thanks to e-Tools we were able to bring on a quick analysis and visually identify the strange design.

Please look at to see the automatically generated analysis diagram for this scenario.

Before changing this behaviour on your production environment you should evaluate any impact and do a thorough regression analysis!

  • Are you planning to leave Siebel for some other technology?.. Think twice..

As e-Up is attending the Oracle Open World 2014, today I attended the “Siebel CRM - the future of Siebel, Strategy and Roadmap for the World’s most complete CRM” session.

I have to say that after years of frustration, now Siebel customers could relax about the future of their multi-years investment, if Oracle keeps its promises.

As I have had the opportunity to underline in other occasions, the strategy towards what they now define as the most complete CRM solution in the World, has been ambiguous - to say the least.

During these days, I have met Siebel customers really expressing years of frustration towards a non clear statement of direction, making confusion even between going to Open UI or Oracle Cloud (by the way - someone still talks about Oracle Fusion applications and you would be surprised by who is doing so..).

What we have been experiencing in these years is a constant and continuous penetration of the cloud buzzword in the business applications scenario. Cloud is cool, On-Prem is obsolete... Or so they say.

So we have seen Siebel customers abandon their investment for other technologies, quite always towards cloud based ones as or Sugar CRM (as in the famous IBM case). But are we really sure they did the best long-term decision?

Siebel customers are still very concerned about their commitment to their Siebel solutions and they are not sure if continuing investing in it is a winning strategy.

If until today I had my own idea about the right choice for big corporations, but I could not reassure them (at the end of the day, we do not own the future of Siebel as a technology) now I can honestly say those customers that they should be relaxed and not too much worried about the future of their CRM platform.

What really changes between Cloud and On-Prem solutions is the commitment you are giving to handling your own data and servers. If taking care of your servers and data is more a burden than an advantage, then you should probably think about a strategy to get rid of it and find someone to take care in your place or change the entire application paradigm and move everything to the cloud.

If you are not part of this group, then I don’t think you should be concerned about not being yet on the cloud. As technology is improving, as network speed and bandwidth are increasing, the difference among the different paradigms is really more and more a keyword, marketing one. But I will return on this in the future, discussing how we simply deliver to you new solutions like e-Tools for Siebel.

What I want to give you is really my impression about the market and my opinion about the most intelligent way to face the future.

My impression is that someone has tried to put on-prem solutions as Siebel apart, but many customers were not ready or not willing to follow the flow.

The consequent lack of customers satisfaction and the evolution of technologies I mentioned before brought us where we stand today, with Oracle telling us they are going to commit to Siebel for the most foreseeable future with a bunch of new implementations I am going to list.

Again, if you are not in the group of customers that consider handling data and application servers a burden, you should not really worry about not being on the Cloud. Why? Because it will come, step by step, and I think you should let Oracle worry about that, not yourself.

A first example is the integration of the new Oracle Cloud solutions with Siebel, that will extend your on-prem CRM features with cloud based ones, without the need for you to completely disrupt years of implementation. This is part of the Oracle CX strategy, that is offering you the possibility of choosing new cloud solutions such as Oracle Marketing, Oracle Sales, CPQ, Commerce, Service and Social to be integrated with the Siebel core. Numbers show us today that 84% of Siebel customers are either on 8.1 or 8.2 version; that means that - from now on - things should be much simpler in terms of innovation and upgrades and the official roadmap now clearly shows 2022 in the time line. So commitment is there... As for the quality of the products, I cannot really say and I don’t want to make everything appear so easy as it has not been in the past years for many upgrades (really painful for many customers).

Open UI, firstly released 2 years ago, is now not just a reshaping of the user interface; it is really a change of technology, making sure that the Siebel application is not only more likable for the users, but ready to be run on all the latest devices. IP 2014 will make sure that there will be a complete responsive design UI, so that no development is needed to adapt the user interface to different devices. Using both tablets and smart phones? Then the UI will automatically shrink or expand to fit to your device screen.

The third part representing an update and new life to Siebel is represented by mobile solutions: there will be now the possibility to directly download the mobile application from the App Store and the synchronization famous pain points will be approached (and hopefully solved) with 3 different options (complete synchronization, upload or download). The disconnected application will therefore see new life with an enhanced solution, together with a new version of CRM desktop, completely integrated with Outlook 2013 and Lotus Notes 8.5.3.

Together with the standard mobile application, new ad-hoc vertical mobile solutions (phone or tablet) have been introduced: for the moment Communication, Life Sciences (particularly for e-detailing) and Financial Services will have completely dedicate mobile applications that will be integrated with Siebel (Open UI, of course).

The fourth pillar of a potential Siebel renaissance (as our friend Bruce Daley has referred to at the beginning of this year - - and from my point of view the real indication that the Siebel team in Oracle is taking this seriously - is the introduction of a complete SRF and web templates free deployment (also called Run-time configuration) and a web version of the Siebel Tools that should allow you to do some basic customization of Siebel directly on the web browser, something similar to what you can do nowadays with Cloud platforms such as This is not something that will be available in the coming IP-2014 anyway, but should come from 2015 on. Of course this is a big change and will be released step by step, also because I am not totally convinced that you can successfully deploy all the current powerful Siebel configuration possibilities into a web browser: one of the limits of customization possibilities for cloud packaged applications (if we can define them so) relies exactly on this, in fact.

Oracle future strategy aims at a so called Single Unified Tools on the web (weirdly very similar to our Unified Perspective approach) so that changes can be applied on an environment that is very similar to the end-user one.

This unification should also bring new Optimized Testing capabilities for Siebel applications (Packaged Siebel Test Automation Interfaces and Objects).

As you can see, lots of new developments should arrive to completely refresh the Siebel technology and this reinforces my point of view that on-prem or on the cloud, it is just a question of the technical evolution that an application is going through. Once your user interface is HTML5 compatible, your tools are web compatible, and you can rely on standard integration interfaces, the real difference between Cloud or On-Prem relies on the fact that data is on your own servers or on third-parties’. That’s really it!

As for the timing for the commitment to do such changes, well... That’s a completely different story, and we could write an entire new article and discuss for days... My personal opinion is that these changes are at least 6 years late and that I am quite sure that around half of the lost Siebel customers in these years would still be on Siebel, if such changes would have been applied in a coherent time frame.

I just want to finish this long post reinforcing the fact that this just represents my point of view on the current scenario and it is particularly referred to the long list of Siebel customers I talked with that are worried about the future of their CRM platform. As I mentioned, going to the Cloud could be the right decision for some, but for others I would say that right now they can look at their years of investment as an asset and not any longer as a liability. Above all, I always invite everyone to critically analyse what "cloud" really means, because at the end of the day the real important thing is that your piece of software is up to date with the recent technologies and the possibilities they offer, not where you store your data.

Personally, I can say that we at e-Up will still commit with strategic and technical consultancy and innovative new software for Siebel, together with other technologies... but that’s another story...

    So, as usual, stay tuned...

  • Check Siebel repository via REST directly in e-Tools

Check Siebel repository via REST directly in e-Tools

In the last months we have been extending e-Tools with new features that exploit the innovations introduced by the Siebel development team. One of the most interesting innovations presented in IP2016 is the REST interface. As described in the bookshelf, REST (Representational State Transfer) is a software architecture style that provides a convenient and consistent approach to requesting and modifying data. In the Siebel CRM RESTful system, resources are stored on the Siebel Server.

e-Tools, the unique CASE tool for Oracle Siebel, supports any Siebel version, generating visual artefacts that are used for all the phases of a Siebel implementation project - from requirements to solution design.

e-Tools now includes a new REST interface to communicate with your Siebel Server in order to get the information you need to check in the Repository or - if you activated the new IP2016 feature - in any Workspace you might want to use. In the following video we present the new window embedding the client to get any data from your Siebel repository. By doing so you will be able - for example - to compare the values of a specific object with the ones of a previous version modelled in e-Tools.

This new feature - as the ones that use the new generation Siebel IP2016 UPT framework - is included for all existing e-Tools customers as any other new feature that we constantly release.  Remember, you can still use e-Tools in all your project's phases with ANY Siebel version  - but you will be able to exploit also these innovations, like querying the repository via REST, once you upgrade to latest Siebel releases.

NOTE - in order to get data related to Workflows you need to get IP2016 Patch Set 3; thanks to Chandan DasGupta from the Oracle Siebel team for the information.

e-Tools for Oracle Siebel CRM FAQ

You have questions about e-Tools? Find the most common questions and answers below.

    1. What is e-Tools?

e-Tools is the unique complete CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tool for Oracle Siebel CRM implementations. It is a modelling, analysis, design and management tool based on visual diagrams.

e-Tools supports a Siebel implementation from requirements gathering, to both functional and technical modelling and design: every diagram relies on Siebel core objects and concepts.

e-Tools embeds hundreds of automations to support and speed up your work with Siebel. Thanks to its analysis automations, e-Tools uncovers the existing application design and functional processes for you to work with. New designs can start from an as-is model of the current Siebel application, simply analysing your repository. Once the analysis is complete or the design is done, you can document it with a click.

All implementation stakeholders (from business to BAs, architects and developers, testers and quality assurance, support agents and managers, etc.) can use e-Tools in their daily Siebel project related work and exchange artifacts to improve collaboration in the project.

Prototyping or mock-ups, requirements elicitation and modeling, architecture overview, new designs, tests, technical support queries, etc; all can be accomplished with e-Tools.

    2. What does e-Tools do for Business Analysts?

    • Open UI live prototyping & mock-up - modify the Open UI interface look-and-feel (including labels renaming, css and html modifications) on the fly without impacting the application to show to your end users how the application can look like and automatically document the analysis.
    • Requirements elicitation - help business users express their needs with a visual overview of application user interface and the logic behind it, quick-prototyping and mock-up facilities. Use Cases of User Stories are both supported.
    • Requirements gathering - define the new requested functionalities and application details
    • Requirements modeling - create visual models in use cases/story format, domain diagrams and business/functional process flows
    • Application analysis - understand the already customized application via a bottom-up analysis and automatically create an application analysis blueprint - no need for in-depth Siebel knowledge, e-Tools works for you!
    • Delta analysis - import just the latest changes in an e-Tools project - start your analysis from a delta development.
    • Technical team interaction - facilitate communication and reduce misunderstandings via visual diagrams and using Siebel core objects.
    • Automated documentation - once the analysis is completed, the model is automatically documented, including all legacy documentation that you can attach to any e-Tools object.

    3. What does e-Tools do for Siebel Architects and Developers?

    • Requirements understanding - easier, quicker, less misunderstandings. Collaborate with the BA on a e-Tools whiteboard!
    • Customized application analysis - #visuanalysis of a customized Siebel, starting from an e-Tools diagram or directly from a Siebel application!

    • Impact analysis - assess impact of the issue and related risks.
    • Automated documentation - once the analysis is completed, the model is automatically documented, including all the legacy documentation that you can attach to any e-Tools object.

    5. What does SaaS mean for e-Tools?

e-Tools resides on our servers: we perform improvement and maintenance, manage users, and do all the administrative work so that you don’t have to worry about anything. When you use e-Tools, you access it online but it will be streamed on your local machine. You need administrative rights on your local machine only the first time. No need to install anything else afterwards and you can decide if and when receiving the application updates.

e-Tools runs completely on your environment: your data, metadata and the application do not leave your premises. When we do upgrades and updates, there is no need on your side to take action, we take care of everything so that you get the maximum value with the minimum effort.

    6. What security settings do I need to modify on our corporate network?

There is NO modification required: streaming e-Tools uses the standard http 80 port. You need the administrator rights for your local machine only the first time.

    7. Do I have to provide my repository / corporate data / proprietary data?

NO: Your repository and data remain on your premises at all time. e-Tools is streamed from our servers to your local machines to do the job. It will run on your machines while you use it and it will get back “home” when you have finished your work. We do not have any access to your data, only e-Tools that runs on your local machine does. You will save your works in e-Tools projects on your machine or on your corporate intranet to share it with your colleagues.

    8. How do I access e-Tools?

Once you become an e-Up client, you get access to e-Tools via our website. For the first usage you need to have administrator rights on your local machine. Also, you will need to set up an ODBC to be used (Once Oracle won't use the local repository any longer (probably IP2017+) we will offer an ODBC-free access). Following usage does not require administrator rights, not even if the version of e-Tools changes.

    9. What does continuous innovation mean?

We @e-Up always look for a way to improve things and add more functionality, alos following the continuous Oracle innovation on Siebel. Based on our clients’ requirements and proposals from the internal design team, we continuously develop new features. Updates and upgrades are transparent to the end-user: no need to re-install or take any other action.

    10. What about the future, is it an issue if Siebel Tools is going to the cloud?

NO, e-Tools works independently of Siebel Tools, being on premises or on the cloud.

    11. Does e-Tools work with both HI and Open UI?

YES, e-Tools supports both. We will focus more on Open UI for the future, as it is expected that everybody will eventually migrate (Oracle will stop supporting HI and focus only on OpenUI starting with IP16).

    12. I’d like to try it out, do you offer trials?

From time to time, we do trial campaigns. If you are interested, contact us requesting a trial. We will get back to you requesting information on how you want to use e-Tools for and your current Siebel project(s) and introducing you to the tool and features. Then we set up the trial environment for you and get you through an inception so that you can make the most out of the trial. Please note that the trial version is limited in terms of usage period and potentially also on functionality.

    13. Does e-Tools substitute Siebel Tools or Siebel Composer?

NO - e-Tools integrates with both standard Oracle customizations tools. it will perfectly integrate with Siebel Composer, extending all the new possibilities. Moreover, e-Tools supports automatic analysis and design, for both the technical and the functional side.

    e Tools small

A Unified Perspective over Oracle Siebel CRM

A magnifier lense over your customized application

Years of customizations have transformed the Siebel packaged application in a maze: it is difficult to understand and manage. Which requirement triggered a specific customization? What is impacted by a script? Which customization triggers that unexpected behaviour? These are all common questions when working on Siebel projects. Moreover, the documentation is often either missing or not updated, thus customizations that happened some implementation cycles ago are incomprehensible.

e-Tools provides a visual “map” of your application, facilitating comprehension. It uncovers the existing customizations, presents them in easy-to-understand visual models and documents everything in one click. This makes it easier to understand what is causing performance issues, where the bottlenecks are, which objects or processes are impacted by modifying an existing object, etc.

When using e-Tools, a knowledge repository is created, containing the relation among requirements, design and the real implementation - all done automatically! With one thread to follow, it is easier to find the why of a customization, understand what triggered a design decision, find the right person to discuss the issues with, and improve one company's control over its Siebel CRM application.

    Rapid Requirements Generation

Thanks to a closer collaboration with the original Oracle Siebel Development team, e-Tools features the automatic generation of Use Case scenarios starting from Siebel IP2014+. This technology is based on machine learning techinques and represents a revolution similar to the introduction of 90's Packaged Applications vs. greenfield development - you don't need to write requirements from scratch - start from the real use cases that are already implemented in your Siebel solution, analyze them and customize to rapidly offer a business solution. Easily document everything in HTML and share it in your company.

    Automatic Visual Design Best practices

e-Tools empowers the Siebel team members with automated analysis brought on easy to understand visual models, uncovering all the employed solution designs. From the as-is visual models, new designs are easily drawn, alternative solutions assessed based on implementation impact and risks. Moreover, e-Tools guides the technical experts in using Siebel best-practices. As a result, the Siebel application is more agile, easy-to-manage and to upgrade.

    Business Process Extraction

Siebel BPE extracts the real case business processes from the application usage. It allows you to build your own, customized Business Process Library to be used inside your organization. Applying amachine learning approaches, e-Tools interprets the usage data and builds a business friendly visual representation. Technical details are smoothed out and the models are re-usable throughout the entire application life-cycle - from business requirements to solution design, testing and training.

Visually analyze your application starting form the User Interface cutting typical third-party support high costs and timelines. With e-Tools you always have a Siebel expert on your side, guiding you through issue discovery, indicating potential pitfalls. All this real-time, every time you need it, with no delay.

Starting IP2014+ you can also support your users without the need to replicate the reported error - direclty support by analyzing the real-case process: identify the reported point, start the visual analysis to identify the reason of the issue and find the solution

All these features allow you and your Siebel implementation to gain:

Have you noticed how organizational tasks and documents revert around the same knowledge? With e-Tools you leverage the materials and knowledge already created to support various perspectives over the Siebel application. You need to create training on the new application features? Identify the latest implemented requirements, use the delta analysis, get automated documentation for all! You need documentation for change management, quality assurance, etc? Use e-Tools automated visual html documentation, easy to share via the intranet or as requested by your company’s policies.

This means no more time lost in re-writing, while you make the most of the knowledge already available.

    Knowledge management

Working with e-Tools means that the entire team’s knowledge is saved in the meta-repository. Requirements, designs, existing customizations, are set side by side and related with one thread. Are you wondering which requirement triggered a customization? Check it in e-Tools meta-repository and, in the process, find out the business context (use cases/business story, processes, domain knowledge) and the design decision background (pre-existing application architecture and customizations, alternative design solutions, risk and impact notes).

Do more with less: reduce workload and increase productivity

Automation takes off pressure from the team as it reduces workload. Consider that just documentation creation, update and management takes up to 80% of project time. By automating documentation production, the team is empowered to focus on the other issues at hand, support the business and identify better design solutions.

Analysing and understanding the existing application is assessed to take 40% of architects’ time and 20% of developers time. Automating it with e-Tools supports them in getting the right information straight away. Less time is spent on navigating the Siebel application, more time is spent on developing best-in-class solutions that keep business going.

    Communication & collaboration

Did you know that project misunderstandings and miscommunication can cause missed deadlines, expensive re-work and frustrated clients? What tools are available to tackle this issues? e-Tools’s intuitive visual models form a communication canvas, reducing misunderstandings. The entire Siebel team references e-Tools to grasp what the application is and how it behaves. Using the visual models to engage with all stakeholders means everyone on the project is aligned and can take the necessary informed decisions. How would your organization benefit from having business and IT aligned? More agility and improved customer management mean increased market competitiveness.

  • How to own your corporate CRM Business processes

    SiebelProcesses6 3

Next September will be full of events and innovations for all the Oracle Siebel customers out there. On the 5th and 6th of the month, an innovative Siebel Roadshow will take place in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Differently from the other events of this kind that took place this year, both in Europe and the United States, this will be a 2 days workshop that will offer the possibility to not only know the latest news in the Siebel ecosystem but also to experience first-hand real-case customer scenarios and new product demos; e-Up will also participate as speaker.

Additionally, from the 18th to the 22nd of September, the yearly Oracle Open World will take place in San Francisco and the future of Siebel will be revealed, together with all innovations that will revolutionize the way customers perceive a CRM application.

Two years ago we @ e-Up set out with an ambition to innovate the way CRM Packaged Applications are implemented and supported. We decided to start focusing on Siebel because we strongly believe not only it represents the first point of reference for the entire CRM enterprise landscape but also because its data model is still the richest and most flexible you can find out there, no matter if you are on the Cloud or on-Premise. While companies like are just recently focusing on verticals to offer ad-hoc support for enterprises in different business contexts (e.g. pharmaceutical, telco, finance, etc.) Siebel has done this since its early days, bringing on the market the most complete set of digital working processes.

There has been a time, in fact, when the focus of CRM implementations to support the corporate strategy was over the processes that are embedded within, not the technology itself. This because, despite the aid provided by CRM software, the core business is always about the customers and how to engage with them in the best possible way - not just to sell, but to establish a frank and loyal communication channel. In this sense, as we used to say “CRM is not about the software”, today we can say that CRM is also not about the Cloud or the way the services offered by an application are consumed.

No matter what other vendors say, much of the “magic” behind a great corporate Customer Relationship Management strategy relies on the preparation of the workforce, their attitude and their actual job on-the-field. Only by “listening” to the corporate workforce and their daily activities we can help companies achieve their best potential.

The digital transformation corporations aspire to requires supporting tools that are based on what we call Pro-Active intelligence, being able to learn and evolve with agility together with the business itself. The combination of e-Tools and the latest Siebel versions achieves this, offering Siebel customers the possibility to finally unlock their Siebel data and analyse it to derive new insights, extend and modify their business processes in an easy visual approach.

Last year I decided to focus e-Up on a closer collaboration with the Oracle Siebel development team as I was sure this would have brought the best innovations for all CRM customers out there.

In the last weeks the Siebel IP 2016 saw the light - even on the Oracle Cloud - and at the same time we launched e-Tools 2016, bringing both technical innovations andintelligent support, so that both business and technical users are empowered with built-in insights and intelligence within the business applications they’re working with on a daily basis.

With the latest innovations, we broke down the barriers between productivity, collaboration and business processes, creating a new customer centric model aligned to each every-day role of the workforce, so that a real customer support can be offered to all users of Siebel-based business applications.

    • Imagine an application that can offer you a customized Business Process Library of your specific CRM implementation - Because your company's CRM implementation is different from the others' - your business approach is unique;
    • Imagine the possibility to measure the CRM application Performance - check how long the application takes to execute the steps of your business and functional processes embedded in your CRM Packaged application;
    • Imagine an application that enables Business Process Improvement (BPI) by an automatic Visual analysis of the specific usage your users do of the application, how much time they need to execute some steps of the functional processes and how to improve the way your users work with their CRM system;
    • Imagine the possibility to support and be supported without the need to repeat all the single steps that were executed to arrive at that system error that does not allow you to proceed with your work activity as expected, impacting a worker's overall performance;
    • Imagine the possibility to automatically generate business-friendly Test Cases as the foundation for your Siebel test strategy;
    • Imagine the possibility to stop reinventing the wheel – as Siebel gives you a canvas of best practices in each industrial domain, e-Tools gives you the possibility to generate the hidden functional and technical blueprint that is behind your Siebel-based application, no matter how old it is.
    • … and Imagine a world where you can do all the above without having to write a line of code.

Now you can - not only imagine it, but execute it. All this has become a reality thanks to the above mentioned conjunct effort of latest innovations introduced by the Oracle Siebel development team and the new digital approach to support CRM implementation projects represented by e-Tools.

This means that the gap between the Functional side of a CRM implementation and the Technical solution design is now completely closed by automatically generated visual artefacts - no need for a single line of code.

Differently from the "No Software" slogan...

...we use Software so that business can achieve agility and IT does not need to code

The motivating force behind this is to empower our customers to make things and make things happen in a simple and intuitive way. Together with Oracle we are offering customers to finally own their CRM/CX business without writing a line of code, really.

We @ e-Up and the Siebel team wait for you to show you what the next generation of CRM Business Processes and Automation looks like.

See you in Utrecht and San Francisco

  • IP2016 Oracle XE challenges

So, IP2016 is out and you want to try it. Good. First of all let us tell you that it would really make sense to try a complete installation of Client, Tools AND Server. This would allow you to test all the new features, including the REST interface, the new WYSIWYG Web Composer and basically the complete set of functionalities. But you might want to wait for a Cloud instance for the Server and start immediately with a local installation of Client and Tools.

  • Nine steps to Siebel DIY support

Nine Steps to Siebel DIY Support

We already discussed about the reasons why many users complain about Siebel CRM applications in another article. In many Oracle Siebel projects a helping hand in understanding and solving application issues is very welcome. This often means relying on third-party support to provide guidance. But expert service comes at a cost: having someone supporting you 24/7 is not cheap and if the support is not handled the right way... you risk to lose control over your application for good!

Here are 9 steps to guide you to Siebel DIY support

    1. When relevant, start with analysing the Application UI - When we face Siebel customization issues, the complaint often starts at a UI level. Since the introduction of Open UI, some quite nasty things can be done, often not following Siebel customization best practices. For this reason it's important to immediately identify at a Siebel components level which Javascript and CSS files are involved, even before using your browser Devtools to inspect the html source. This because Siebel is not just a website, but a Packaged application with a complex infrastructure that lays behind the GUI - so it goes far beyond the 3 layers of web development!
